Thank you for a Successful Estate Management Conference!

Thank you for a Successful Estate Management Conference!

The 2025 Estate Management Conference was an exceptional gathering, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who took part. The event reflected the strength of our professional community and the generosity of those willing to share knowledge, insight, and time.

Our venues provided an excellent backdrop for both learning and networking. From the opening reception at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, we could tell it was going to be a great weekend. Shout out to Siamak Nassirpour, the Luxe General Manager / mixologist who crafted those wonderful Aviation cocktails and to Joshua Washington for handling all of the details.

We couldn’t have found a more inviting space than the beautiful Taper Courtyard to enjoy a sunny California afternoon. The Skirball Cultural Center was an excellent host for our learning sessions, lunch, and cocktail reception. Thank you Sierra Tsementzis for making it an effortless event, even when you couldn’t be there.

Saturday at the Getty was the perfect end-cap. Hearing from Les Borsay, the Getty’s Emergency Officer, on how they protected the Getty Villa and the Getty Center from the Palisades fire was both riveting and full of lessons that could be applied to a large estate property. The Getty Center is an amazing architectural feat and touring the buildings and gardens provided a greater appreciation for the work. Thank you David Singleman for arranging everything (and for being gracious when our guests arrived late to the lecture.)

Our speakers set a high standard. Each presentation was thoughtful, relevant, and delivered with the depth and conviction that only comes from experience. The exchange of knowledge was exactly what we had hoped for when planning this program. We came away with scenarios, questions, and ideas to incorporate into our own emergency planning.

I am deeply grateful to our Learning Lab exhibitors for anchoring the program. This community is stronger because of your engagement. We’re putting together a workbook of the takeaways created by our exhibitors so that those who did not attend can have access to the vital information provided, and will be hosting podcast sessions with some of our exhibitors who did not speak.

I cannot express how thankful we are for our sponsors. Hosting this group comes with high expectations and we were able to meet them with your support. You all rose to the call; we had amazing events! Thank you Clay Lacy Aviation for our opening reception, Nines for our morning coffee and networking, DM Estate Staffing for lunch and the exciting announcement of the Bell Registry, and to Rescor Group for the evening cocktail reception on the Taper terrace. Additional thanks to our program advertisers and Rescor Group for covering our printed materials.

Massive thanks to the volunteers who made this work. There were some very last minute changes to roles and responsibilities and everyone stepped in to fill the gaps. Even people I didn’t know offered a hand and filled volunteer roles with enthusiasm and professionalism. I enjoyed getting to know all of you! Thank you David Applegate, Stella Martins, Jennifer Laurence, Brenda Roh, Laurie Reese, Nina Rosas, Millen Joseph, and Stephanie Galetzki. You all made this whole event amazing.

Most importantly, thank you to all who attended. You all took time and expended resources on coming together to learn and become more valuable Estate Managers. The event affirmed the importance of this community, and validated the work that we have put into building the Estate Management Network. YOU ARE AWESOME.

Cover Your Assets // Understanding Service Contracts

I love contracts. I like knowing what I’m obligated to and what the vendor is obligated to, in very clear terms. I’m spending someone else’s money on someone else’s property, so I want to make the right decisions and I want to be covered.  PRO MEMBER CONTENT
