As we watch the tragedy unfold in Los Angeles, I can’t help but think that a loss of thousands of homes also means that countless private service professionals who cared for these homes and families will be without jobs, and may be without resources to rebuild their lives. These individuals; our private service community, now faces an urgent crisis.

As facilitators of community engagement, we are in a unique position to help. The Estate Management Network is organizing the Private Service Resiliency Initiative, a partnership program to provide immediate relief, career assistance, and long-term support to help private service professionals recover and rebuild.

This is a critical moment. The needs are immediate, and we cannot wait to act. The Private Service Resiliency Initiative aims to connect those affected with the resources they need now, while laying the groundwork for lasting recovery. Together, we can ensure that those who have contributed so much to the lives of others are not left behind.

Our Goals

Immediate Relief: Provide urgent financial and material support to private service professionals impacted by the fires through trusted local nonprofit partners.

Career Services: Identify and support staffing agencies, estate management firms, parallel employers, and training organization’s efforts to help connect displaced professionals with new job opportunities and resources for upskilling.

Building Resilience: Establish a foundation for long-term recovery by creating a collaborative network of support that empowers private service professionals to rebuild their lives and prepare for future challenges.

How You Can Help

This initiative will be powered by partnerships and contributions from individuals and organizations who recognize the critical role of private service professionals. Here are ways you can get involved:

Partner with Us

Our goal is to facilitate strategic planning, marketing, and outreach to amplify the impact of organizations providing direct support to displaced private service professionals. Here are some ideas for how you can join the effort:

Domestic Staffing Agencies: Prioritize placements for affected individuals, partner with out-of-area agencies and collaborate with alternative, non-residential employers to seek positions for domestic staff.

Parallel Employers: Estate Management and Property Companies, Private Clubs, Hotels and Hospitality Venues: Wave direct experience requirements in favor of crossover skills and capabilities. Work with domestic placement agencies for staffing needs.

Hospitality Training and Certification Organizations: Provide free or discounted training to help PSPs upskill to enter the non-residential workforce.

Industry Partners, Vendors, and Service Providers: Match donations, let us help you create an employee giving campaign, or help sponsor a recovery effort.
